Guidelines for Cursillo Team Members

“One should never forget that the Cursillos in Christianity as a method for renewal are neither more nor less than an instrument in the hands of man, who effectiveness-taking for granted the work of Divine Grace will depend in large part on the skill and wisdom with which man uses them.” Leaders Manual – page 69

Before the Weekend

If you have severe problems, either in your marriage, with alcohol, or with drugs, or of any other nature, DO NOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BEING A TEAM MEMBER.

Be prepared to attend ALL spiritual formations for the team. (if you miss 2 meetings you will have to drop from the team)

A team member should have the willingness to give completely of self in the formations.

Team members should pray for one another, encourage one another, and strive to grow in genuine love for one another so that they might be a witness of brotherly love when the weekend begins.

A team member should make every conscientious effort to grow in a life of PIETY, STUDY, AND ACTION. Each team member should spend at least thirty minutes each day in prayer and scriptural reading.

Copies of job-related duties and various guidelines such as table-leading techniques and the dynamics of the Cursillo will be given and discussed during the team formations. This will enable each team member to be aware of his or her specific job and the duties required of them before the weekend begins.

If you are assigned a Talk, follow the expanded outline and try to stay within the time allotted for the talk. If you need help, contact the Rector or Rectora.

Each team member should strive to have a greater knowledge of the Cursillo Movement. Group reunions help in this manner.

Each team member should be faithful in their own group reunion so that they can relate the importance of this to the new Cursillistas and share what group reunions mean to them.

During the Weekend

Follow the guidelines that pertain to YOUR particular job.
Pray, work diligently, and use all the gifts and talents that the Lord has given YOU.

After the Weekend

Be aware that your duties as a team member aren’t over at the Closing on Sunday evening.
Attendance at Ultreyas are important. The new Cursillistas need to see you there. They need the reassurance of your presence and the feeling of belonging that they experienced on their weekend.
Table leaders should write to those at their table after the weekend to further complete the bonding experience of the Cursillo.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. O God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever enjoy your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
