February is here. As a community, let’s make this a season of prayerful preparation. Brian and Jennifer are currently discerning and building the teams for the upcoming weekends. Please continue to pray, encourage, and support them both. Many can tell you that listening to the Spirit in the process of building a team is a sacred season. Please lift up Brian and Jennifer as they seek clarity and peace in this process. Pray also for your part in these weekends. Team member application are still needed. Apply as you are led.
It’s not too soon to submit candidate applications. Most will want time to pray, and it can be difficult for some to schedule a 3-day weekend. It is wise to ask early. Pray + discern + ask. A personal invitation and an encouraging conversation can make all the difference.
A few items to make you aware of:
There will be a day soon when our supply building at Camp Clark will be moved to a nearby location, as requested by the Camp Clark board. If you are willing to help with this move, please get in touch with a board member, Jason, or me.
The Secretariat board is prayerfully discerning if weekends beyond 2027 should continue at Camp Clark. Please join and pray for God’s wisdom in this decision.
Most of you are aware that, sadly, Jennifer and Joey lost their home to a fire last week. Thankfully, they were unharmed, but the home was a complete loss. Many of you have already reached out with support, and some have provided financial assistance. The Board would like to offer additional support from our Fourth Day family and will use the offering collected at Saturday’s Ultreya as a love offering for Jennifer. Details for the Ultreya are below. As a reminder, anyone is welcome to attend an Ultreya, including someone you have invited to a weekend. It has proven to be a good way to help potential candidates feel comfortable.
As we look ahead to Men’s 97th and Women’s 96th, it can feel as though these weekends are sure and easy events. The truth is, they only happen through your deep commitment and faithful support. Allow me to challenge you to earnestly pray this week, asking God to reveal His call on your life regarding these weekends.
Philippians 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Members Present: Stacy Baker, Jason Buckman, Keith Buckman, Jason Hedrick, Donna Jewell, Blair Lamb, Clay Norman, Megan Randolph, Kenny Quinton, Barbara Thomas, Mark Thomas, Randy Trent, Joey Willett Members Absent: Jim Lyon Guests: Debbie Hollowell
Meditation: Jason Buckman discussed several passages from 2 and 3 John; some of the shortest books in the bible. They are letters from Paul to his followers with instructions to continue their Christian walk in his absence and facing adversity. Jason asked the members present where ecumenical fellowship stops. These books talk about truth and love and the great commandment to love one another.
Minutes: Minutes of the September 2025 meeting were read and approved after a motion by Keith Buckman and second by Joey Willett.
Treasurer’s Report: Barbara Thomas presented the financial reports from September and October 2025
Post Cursillo Report: Kenny reported that both men’s and women’s weekends went well, evidenced by the candidates’ comments at closings. There were a couple of challenges with camp facilities. A non-working oven and issues with heat in the church on the lady’s weekend.
Debbie Hollowell encouraged the board to reemphasize the need to have experienced team members be the head of jobs such as Kitchen Steward, Shepherd, Palanca etc. Additionally, that job descriptions presented at formations are best given by someone with experience with that job. Lastly, remind team members to read their job description books, regardless of how many times they have worked a particular job. The board agreed to be more attentive to these matters.
Next Ultreya will be December 6 at Zion Baptist Church in Henderson 5pm. Cursillo will provide the meat with attendees bring side dishes or desserts.
Palanca Report: Both weekends had plenty of palanca letters from other groups.
Spiritual Director Report: Jason stated that all the talks went well on both weekends and God definitely showed up.
Ballots for election of incoming board members to replace members rotating off were completed by members. Kenny thanked members Keith Buckman, Donna Jewell, Megan Randolph and Mark Thomas for their service and time. Megan Randolph will remain in the capacity of Secretary.
The board went into executive session to discuss the future with Camp Clark. Kenny stated that the Spring and Fall dates for the 2026 weekends are confirmed with Camp Clark. On November 4th Kenny, Jason Buckman, and Grover Fischbeck attended a Camp Clark board meeting. The Camp is owned and managed by Union Association of General Baptists. The Camp Board informed us that all supplies stored in the conference room closet and the building (Outside the cafeteria) that houses Cursillo supplies must be removed from the camp. It was noted this is a disappointing requirement as we have benefited from onsite storage since our relationship began in 2014. The Camp Board also requested that Cursillo pay to have the dumpster on site weekends in addition to the weekend fees. To be noted: Our 11-year relationship with Camp Clark and the Union Association has been very positive. However, given the change in relationship put forth by the Camp Board a committee was formed to explore a future site for the Cursillo and the feasibility of remaining at Camp Clark beyond 2026. That committee is made up of Blair Lamb, Grover Fischbeck, and Jason Hedrick. To be supported by Jason Buckman and Kenny Quinton.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned after a motion by Keith Buckman and second by Randy Trent.
