I pray that your Christmas season provided an opportunity to renew your faith, strengthen your relationship with God, and open your heart to the joy that only Christ can provide. Advent reminds us that there is a season for preparing and waiting—marked by hope, peace, joy, and love. As we step into 2026, may we do so with expectation, trusting that our waiting and preparing will be met with God’s presence and His calling on our lives.
A few items to focus on as we begin the new year and turn our attention toward the spring weekends:
Pray for Brian and Jennifer as they begin, in earnest, the work of building teams.
Remain faithful to your reunion groups and your home church.
A few details about serving on a team:
There will be five Saturday team formations, each running from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These gatherings will include worship, a team meeting, and a shared meal. If you are selected to serve, you are expected to attend every formation, with the intention of staying through the meal as we build community together.
The formation dates are March 21, March 28, April 11, April 18, and April 25.
When we approach these formations with a spirit of idealism and dedication, the Holy Spirit responds—shaping teams that are of one accord.
A few final items to keep in mind:
Our next Ultreya is February 7 (details below).
It’s not too soon to begin praying for and talking with potential candidates.
A new year awaits. There will be new challenges and familiar, faithful tasks as we work together in “this wonderful and stunning movement of spiritual renewal that has changed and made new so many in the Lord Jesus.”

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Meditation: Jason Buckman discussed signs from God that lets us know He loves us. God’s peace is beyond our understanding. The righteous should not be involved in evil. Our job is to spread God’s word and peace.
Minutes: Minutes of the August 2025 meeting were read and approved after a motion by Jason Hedrick and second by Megan Randolph.
Treasurer’s Report: Barbara Thomas presented the August report. Report accepted after a motion by Clay Norman and second by Megan Randolph.
Pre Cursillo Report: Jason Hedrick reported he had talked to the Camp Clark caretaker who reported the wall in the boys dorm had been reinforced. The outdoor swing outside the palanca room had been repaired. Some painting had been done and the stair rail at the end of the girls dorm will be repaired. Jason Buckman stated he had supplies to fix the grate outside the girls dorm and allow rainwater to drain properly.
Post Cursillo Report: Kenny reported there were 52 at the Ultreya in Sebree.
Palanca Report: Holly Hedrick is getting palanca letters for the fall weekends.
Old Business: Kenny reported that he had talked to everyone giving talks on the weekends at the first formation.
The revision of the songbooks will be done between the fall and spring weekends. It was noted that the books are updated about every 5 years so the Rector/Rectoras theme songs are not automatically put in the books immediately after a specific weekend. Adding/deleting songs involves updating individual books as well as changing the table of contents.
Kenny presented the most updated schedule of musicians for both fall weekends. There will be someone responsible on each weekend to inform the incoming musicians of the atmosphere of the weekend and timing of the needed music.
A discussion about board members attendance was held. Blair Lamb made a proposal to the attendance. “ Secretariat board member are expected to attend every bord meeting if possible. Each board member will be allowed to be absent three (3) times during a calendar year (January through December ) effective 1/1/2026. A fourth miss would require the approval of the Secretariat board. Family emergencies, illness and work will be considered.
The current Lay Director will be responsible to bring every such absence to the board during the meeting that is missed for consideration by the board. The Lay Director will also be required to explain this policy to incoming board members when they are notified that they have been elected to the board for every new rotation.” A motion to adopt this policy was made by Mark Thomas and second by Clay Norman. Motion passed.
New Business: Ballots were completed by board members present were completed by members present for election of Rector/Rectora for the spring 2026 set of weekends. Kenny received the ballot from the members absent prior to the meeting.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned after a motion by Keith Buckman and seconded by Joey Willett
