Dear Family,
2 Timothy 3:14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it…
Beginning April 23 and ending May 3, the Western Kentucky Ecumenical Cursillo will do what has been done 191 times over 53 years at eight locations… Have Weekends. Praise God!
The time has come to focus intently on what we know how to do. Brian and Jennifer have completed their teams, and Team Formations begin on March 14. Women do have a few slots open if led – Apply as soon as possible or contact Jennifer.
What are some important items to focus on this month?
- Prayer – Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
- Candidates – Prayerfully begin inviting. Most are “busy.” Get on their calendar early.
- Prayer Charts – Soon they will be published, let’s fill them early and take that off the teams.
- Meal Serving Charts – Let’s see if Fourth Day outside the teams can fill most slots.
- Please allow for a few more emails this season as we work to communicate with you. Also, pay attention to our Facebook page for immediate needs.
Here are three items that need your attention.
- Mobile Showers: With our move to Webb, we need to provide additional showers, and a mobile shower trailer appears to be the most likely solution. These can be expensive. If you know of a source that could help keep costs down, please contact Jason or me.
- Beds: We will provide specific guidance on our bed needs. Please watch for that information.
- March 14 Ultreya – For the first time, Life in Christ Church in Marion will host an Ultreya. Please make this a priority, as it will be the first time our community has gathered there for worship and fellowship. It is also scheduled on the same day as our first Team Formation. If possible, family, let’s make a good first impression by showing up, worshipping, and fellowshipping together.
Family, let’s not allow the noise to rise to the level of distraction. I wish all of you could have witnessed the overwhelming faithfulness of God these past three weeks. For the board, Jason and me, it could have easily been a time of frustration and doubts, but instead God overwhelmed us with His presence and provision.
Yes, we are having weekends.
I fondly remember Gary Turner describing these weekends as “one part method and one part miracle”. Beginning with the first Team Formation and continuing through each weekend, we will diligently follow and faithfully trust the method while completely relying on the miracle. The Cursillo weekends and movement are consistently special. Spencer Quick best described it as “a wonderful and stunning movement of spiritual renewal.”
Yes, one thing will be different this time. For the first time at a Sunday Closing, candidates will stand behind the podium and say they attended their Cursillo at Webb Memorial. And then, just as we have witnessed for 53 years, each will testify to His goodness.
De Colores!
